West Ham United fans enjoyed a wonderful Saturday as they recorded a sublime 3-2 win over Chelsea.

The Hammers put in a sensational display to help knock the Blues off the top of the Premier League table.

Manuel Lanzini’s penalty and goals from Jarrod Bowen and Arthur Masuaku sealed the hosts’ win at the London Stadium.

West Ham fell behind in the 28th minute due to Thiago Silva’s towering header.

However, Lanzini restored parity for the Hammers from 12 yards five minutes before the break.

A poor Jorginho backpass, combined with Bowen’s pressing, led Edouard Mendy to lunge and concede a spot kick.

Chelsea went ahead again on the stroke of half-time through Mason Mount’s near-post volley.

But West Ham surged back on 56 minutes as Bowen struck a low finish through the legs of Andreas Christensen and in.

And in the 87th minute, the London Stadium erupted thanks to Arthur Masuaku’s cross-shot effort that went in at the near post.

Michail Antonio helped make the difference for West Ham in the second half.

Although the 31-year-old’s poor marking enabled Thiago to score for Chelsea, he was much improved after the break.

Antonio’s movement helped create space for Bowen, while the opposition defence couldn’t deal with his strength.

Indeed, West Ham could’ve easily had their third on 75 minutes.

The £7million ace showed great strength to hold off James before firing a low ball across goal.

Bowen slid in to meet the ball, but couldn’t quite divert it into the net.

Sky Sports commentator Jack Wilkinson was blown away by Antonio’s quality.

“When Michail Antonio is in this mood, he’s simply unplayable,” he said (4/12/21, 14:07).

“A moment of sheer brilliance from the Hammers forward which should have been capped by Bowen finding the net.”

West Ham have progressed superbly under Moyes and will certainly fancy their chances of a top-four finish come May.
