Shaun Maloney has told BBC Sportscene that he believes Rangers have pulled off a very good signing in the form of Kemar Roofe, after spending time in Belgium as a part of Roberto Martinez’s coaching staff.
Roofe, 27, has joined Rangers for a fee of £4million – as per the Mail – from Belgian giants Anderlecht. He was one of two signings announced on the same day, with Switzerland international Cedric Itten also joining the club.
The former Leeds United and Oxford United star missed out against St. Mirren on Sunday, with his fitness still somewhat behind his new teammates. He is yet to play a competitive match in 2020.
Former Celtic man Maloney watched Roofe play in the purple of Anderlecht during his time as a Belgium coach, and he believes the versatile attacker is a good addition for Rangers – describing him as a “really good signing”.
