Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has confirmed Kortney Hause is out of the Easter weekend double-header, the club’s official website reports.
The Villans will be looking to build on their run of eight consecutive wins when they face relegation-threatened duo Bolton Wanderers and Millwall this weekend.
But they will be without Hause for both games after he received treatment on a hip flexor injury, Smith confirmed.
The 23-year-old, who is on loan from Wolves, has not featured since the win against Sheffield Wednesday earlier this month.
Aston Villa fans had hoped to see the central defender back in action this weekend but he will return to training after the Millwall game on Monday.
In Hause’s absence, Axel Tuanzebe and Tyrone Mings are expected to continue as the centre-back pairing.
James Chester is still out injured and Tommy Elphick is on his way back but these next two games might come too soon for him.
Mile Jedinak can also fill in at centre-half if needed but Aston Villa fans want Hause back soon. Here are some tweets from Aston Villa fans reacting to Smith’s injury update on Hause.

Courtney misses out on fitness – damn shame! He’s raring to go otherwise! 👍🏻 Chester, as I said before, would struggle to get back into it! He needs a good preseason and proper recovery. Returning to training is all well and good but it’s doesn’t mean someone starts playing now! https://t.co/FpDfZccUfy
