Sevilla reportedly readying ‘mega offer’ to ‘lure’ Xherdan Shaqiri this summer

A report in Xherdan Shaqiri’s Swiss homeland has detailed how far Sevilla are willing to go in order to sign the Liverpool attacker.

As reported by the Liverpool Echo last month, the Reds are willing to let Shaqiri leave the club this summer.

However, they will reportedly demand a fee in the region of £25 million, which Spanish publication SPORT claim is a fee Sevilla would want to reduce.

However, the La Liga side are willing to offer Shaqiri a handsome wage in order to secure his services.

That is according to a report from Blick this week. They claim that both AS Roma and CSKA Moscow are keen on the player, but that Sevilla are the favourites to complete his signature.

They suggest the Andalusians are readying a ‘mega offer behind the scenes’ to ‘lure’ Shaqiri to the Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium on a ‘lucrative multi-year’ contract.

For Shaqiri, that is exactly what he will be after. At 28-years-old, this is likely to be the Swiss star’s final big contract and it needs to be substantial in order to set him up for life after the game.

Liverpool, of course, will want to be fairly compensated for a player they snapped up in a bargain (Telegraph) £13 million deal in 2018.

But if Sevilla are ready to offer such a big contract to the player, then they will undoubtedly be looking to meet Liverpool as close as possible to that apparent asking price.
