Status

Boro are quickly becoming known as one of the bigger and better teams in the Championship and Aitor Karanka has earned a reputation as one of the top managers in the division, although his future remains uncertain. That’s all well and good until teams begin to work you out and deliberately set up to stop you playing. When a team is at the top they are there to be shot at, and that is always a danger.

It’s Been Too Long Away From The Premier League

This is Boro’s seventh season in the Championship and it’s hard to imagine an eighth when they appear so close to gaining promotion. With all due respect, it’s not the same playing away at Rotherham on a Tuesday night compared to playing at Old Trafford or Anfield. If Boro were to gain promotion the attendances would inevitably shoot up and the town would be rejuvenated through the elation of Premier League football.
