'Set to be completed': Fabrizio Romano shares Newcastle transfer update
Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Newcastle United are close to sealing the permanent signing of Matt Targett.
The 26-year-old joined the Magpies on loan from Aston Villa at the end of the January transfer window.
Targett made the loan move to Tyneside after Villa signed Lucas Digne from Everton.

He enjoyed a fruitful loan spell at St James’ Park, helping Newcastle survive in the Premier League.
Targett played every minute of the 16 top-flight matches he took part in.
According to Romano, he underwent a medical on Wednesday.
The transfer insider claimed Newcastle will soon complete the Targett deal and make an announcement.
Romano also commented on Leeds United’s own pursuit of a full-back, claiming they’ve landed Rasmus Kristensen.
Accroding to Sky Sports, Newcastle have a deal in place to make the Targett move permanent for £15million.
This includes a £3million loan fee for last season.
Following the Magpies’ win over Arsenal on in May, Targett appeared to express his interest in joining the club permanently.
“I think everyone knows what I want, but it’s up to the club,” he told NUTV, via Sky Sports.
“It’s a massive project, an exciting project, and I’m sure everyone wants to be a part of it.
“I’ve loved every single minute of my time here. It’s been an incredible place to play my football. I’ve loved every second of it.”
