Sergio Reguilon would be a big upgrade at left-back for Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur were recently reported (football.london) to be satisfied with their options at left-back – but one man is threatening to make the club look silly if they do stand by.

Sergio Reguilon was in action for Spain once again last night, and again caught the eye with a strong performance on the left side of defence against Ukraine in the Nations League.

The Real Madrid ace was solid in both the attacking and defensive phase for La Roja.

He completed 66 passes at an accuracy of 96%, made eight ball recoveries, won six ground duels, created four chances and provided one assist.

Unfortunately, his night was cut short after he picked up a nasty-looking ankle injury, but he absolutely left his mark.

Manchester United appear to be one of the main contenders to sign him after Chelsea plumped for Ben Chilwell, but Tottenham have also been linked (Marca).

TBR’s View – Reguilon hard to ignore for Tottenham

Jose Mourinho might be making a mistake not throwing himself into the mix for Reguilon, who is clearly a fine little player.

He was great in the final games for Sevilla in the Europa League, and his performance against Ukraine was also very impressive.

While Ben Davies is reliable for Tottenham, one gets the feeling that there is some room for improvement.

A move for Reguilon would not break the bank (Real reportedly value him around £22 million, Marca) and provide Davies with some much-needed competition.
