The Argentinian started all but one game for the Albiceleste in Qatar and he was mostly brilliant. He played a big part in helping his side become world champions, and every Spurs player is delighted for him.
Sergio Reguilon sends Instagram message to Tottenham star Cristian Romero
Romero has been very active on Instagram since he won the World Cup, and his posts have been showered with love and praise from teammates and fans.
The 24-year-old, who is Tottenham’s best defender by far, had a poor start in Qatar. He wasn’t great at all in Argentina’s defeat to Saudi Arabia, but he was brilliant in every game since.
Romero took to Instagram last night and posted a few pictures with his family as they celebrated the World Cup win.
“How much I love you two my loves. They are my everything,” he wrote in the caption, and Tottenham defender Reguilon, who is currently on loan at Atletico Madrid, sent him a message in the replies.
“Te mereces todo amigo,” he wrote, which translates to “You deserve everything (my) friend.”
Antonio Conte confirms Romero will not play against Brentford
The World Cup is over now and all the focus is on the Premier League. Tottenham’s first game back is against Brentford away from home, and they will be without some of their key players.
Richarlison and Lucas Moura are both out injured, while Hugo Lloris, who played in the World Cup final, will only be on the bench, Conte confirmed in his press conference yesterday. Romero, on the other hand, will definitely not play against Brentford – he will only be back for the game against Aston Villa.
“About the players that played the final and third-fourth place, Perisic, Hugo and Cuti, only Ivan, who came back today and had a training session with us, is available for the game against Brentford. About Lloris we want him to stay with us and want him to also to stay on the bench against Brentford,” Conte said, as per Football London.
“About Cuti, he will be available for the next game against Aston Villa, I hope so.”
