Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin has been named in Serge Gnabry’s dream XI of footballers he’s played alongside.

The 25-year-old full-back has been with Arsenal since 2011, when he joined the academy at the same time as Gnabry.

While Gnabry left Arsenal in 2016, Bellerin continues to play for the Gunners and has clocked up 234 competitive appearances for the club.

Gnabry, meanwhile, went from the Emirates Stadium to Werder Bremen and then to Bayern Munich, where he has made 121 competitive appearances.

On Saturday, the Bundesliga website published an article featuring the Germany international’s choice of former teammates and why he picked them.

He named four players from his time at Arsenal, with Bellerin the only one still at the club.

Gnabry picked Bellerin due to his “unbelievable speed,” and because he “gives lots of assists”, as quoted by the Bundesliga website.

Mesut Ozil, Laurent Koscielny and Santi Cazorla were the other former Arsenal players who made the cut.

The rest of the XI is made up of Bayern players – Manuel Neuer, Niklas Sule, Alphonso Davies, Joshua Kimmich, Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman and Robert Lewandowski.

Bellerin has been a great servant for Arsenal over the years, but has also been linked with an exit on several occasions.

According to a report in ESPN from February, Bellerin wanted to quit the Gunners at the end of last season when Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona emerged as serious options.

However, he stayed following heart-to-heart talks with Mikel Arteta, with whom he has a close relationship from their playing days at the club.

The outlet also claimed that, in discussions last year, the Arsenal boss asked Bellerin to give the club one more season and in return, they would consider an exit this summer.

If the player wants to go and Arteta could get some decent money for him and make further strong additions to the team, maybe it’s for the best.
