Arsenal sit top of the Premier League as domestic football breaks for the World Cup and Serge Gnabry might be the man to get them over the line.

The Gunners are this season’s surprise package. Although plenty expected them to improve under Mikel Arteta, even the most optimistic fans never saw this coming.

Arsenal aren’t just top, they’re smashing it! With domestic football parked for six weeks due to the World Cup, Arteta’s men sit five points clear at the summit of the division.

Gabriel Jesus has made a difference in attack, Martin Odegaard has led by example, Bukayo Saka is flying and William Saliba has been like a new signing.

Arsenal have plenty of reasons to be cheerful right now. But, they won’t want to waste this huge opportunity and the January transfer window could prove massive.

All roads should lead to a former player returning to the Emirates Stadium. Bayern Munich star Serge Gnabry could be available for transfer and Arsenal need to act.

The former Gunners youngster left the club in 2016. He joined Werder Bremen and after impressing there, he was surprisingly picked up by Bayern.

Gnabry could now be on the move. It’s thought that Edu has been working on this deal since the summer and he will hope to get things sorted in a couple of months.

Gnabry might be the man to help Arsenal win the Premier League

It has to be said that squad depth is perhaps still an issue for Arsenal. One or two injuries could leave them struggling and Arteta will want to ensure that doesn’t happen.

Gnabry is a player who is bang in form too. During 2022/23, he’s scored 10 goals and claimed 10 assists, with Bayern once again enjoying a sound campaign in the Bundesliga.

At 27-years-old, he still has years left ahead of him. Perhaps more crucially, for a forward player, he’d arrive at the Emirates at the peak of his powers.

Gnabry might fancy the move too. He will surely feel that he has some unfinished business with Arsenal and if he could lead them to the title, he’d become an instant hero.

The Gunners are halfway there in their quest to win the title. Signing Gnabry might just squeeze Arsenal over the line when the trophy is handed out in May.
