Michael Owen was blown away with Mohamed Salah on Sunday as Liverpool defeated West Ham United 3-1 at the London Stadium.
The Egyptian forward was on hand to score twice in the capital, with his second goal a thing of real beauty.
His deft finish came at the end of a blistering counter-attack which had started from a West Ham corner.
Liverpool have now won two on the trot and after signing two centre-backs yesterday, their title defence looks to be back on track.
They still have some work to do to close down Manchester City. If they can defeat Pep Guardiola’s team on Sunday, however, it could throw things wide open.
Owen was mightily impressed with Salah’s performance at the weekend and took to Twitter afterwards.
Salah is proving once again why Liverpool fans and boss Jurgen Klopp hold him in such high regard.
He has carried the can when it comes to bearing the weight of goal expectation for Liverpool during 2020/21.
The 28-year-old has scored 21 goals in all competitions this season.
Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino have both endured barren spells but there has been no such struggle for Salah.

The man with 41 goals in 67 caps for Egypt is paid £200,000-a-week by Liverpool and right now he is bang in form.
He highlighted his true class on Sunday and Klopp will hope there is even more to come.
Owen is a man who knows all about scoring important goals for Liverpool.
He fired 158 goals in 297 appearances for the Reds, bursting onto the scene as a teenager.
Salah is on 115 in the famous red jersey but given the form he is in, you wouldn’t bet against him eclipsing Owen’s tally.
