Dean Jones has said on the Football Terrace podcast that Tottenham Hotspur have their eyes on signing Norwich City playmaker Todd Cantwell.
Cantwell was one of Norwich’s star players in their Premier League campaign two seasons ago, and then proved his class again in the Championship last season.
Tottenham now have had their eyes on the 23-year-old, as they seek potential additions in the summer.
“I think midfield is an area they have been looking at anyway,” said Jones.
“Even before all the changes came along.
“They have been scouting Sabitzer, Todd Cantwell and Miralem Pjanić has been linked with them.
“So, that’s an area they are going to look at with Tottenham, of course, they have been linked with defenders at the moment as well – Stuff will start to happen.”
Shushing the fans
Cantwell actually has proven his quality at Tottenham’s stadium already.
He played a part in helping Norwich knock Spurs out of the FA Cup in 2020, and showed nerves of steel as he stepped up to take a penalty.
After netting that penalty Cantwell actually shushed the Spurs crowd, which may have something to do with the fact he is actually an Arsenal fan (The Sun).

Despite those actions, the appeal of signing Cantwell for Tottenham is clear.
He is a superb technical operator and a real threat in the final third.
His ability to link play would make him a valuable asset to Tottenham’s side, although his arrival would see further questions asked over the future of Dele Alli.
