Greg Docherty has given a four-word Instagram verdict on the signing of Scott Wright at Rangers, after the winger completed a move from Aberdeen to Ibrox this month – having initially signed a pre-contract agreement with the Gers.

Wright, 23, has been excellent for Aberdeen this season – having a hand in seven goals during his 20 league and cup appearances this season. The Scotland Under-21 ace was available for nothing, with his contract ending in the summer.

Rangers agreed a pre-contract with the winger, in similar deals to the ones they have executed for Glen Kamara and new addition Jack Simpson. But like Simpson and Kamara, Rangers have since decided to sign him now, instead of waiting.

It provides Steven Gerrard with another option in the final third, as cover for the likes of Ianis Hagi, Kemar Roofe and Ryan Kent. Jordan Jones has left the club, though Greg Stewart remains. Wright has posted on Instagram following his move.

Despite still being young, Wright has scored seven goals and created 11 more in 79 Dons appearances – in a side that are certainly more focused on defending under Derek McInnes. An impressive loan at Dundee also caught the eye.

Docherty, who left Rangers after struggling to break into the side under Gerrard – since joining Hull City, reacted to Wright’s post with a four-word comment: “Love to see it”.
