Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has suggested that Romelu Lukaku is the strongest player in the world.
The Red Devils have had a number of great strikers over the years in the Premier League. From Eric Cantona and Ruud van Nistelrooy to Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie, goals were never an issue back then. If we’re talking about pure strength, however, Lukaku is up there with the strongest strikers they’ve ever had.

Scott McTominay suggests Romelu Lukaku is the strongest player in the world
Romelu Lukaku spent two years at Manchester United after joining them from Everton for £75 million in 2017 (BBC).
The Belgian scored 42 goals and provided 13 assists in 96 appearances. His time at Old Trafford is not viewed as a success and he was sold in 2019, but it looks like one person at the club still remembers him fondly.
Scott McTominay, who has been at Manchester United all his life, sat down with Goal for a quick game where he had to build the perfect footballer by naming one player for each category.
For the left foot, he picked Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo was the man for the other leg.
PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe was selected for speed and Neymar got the nod for skills, while Andrea Pirlo was the first name out of McTominay’s mouth when he was asked about football IQ.
The only other category was strength and McTominay quickly picked Lukaku – a player he has played with and against over the years.
Lukaku is incredibly strong
When he’s in full flow, Romelu Lukaku is very hard to stop because of his strength.
The Belgian, who currently plays his football in Italy with AS Roma, is excellent in duels. He can go up against almost anyone in the game and come out on top, which is a huge asset.
McTominay is right, Lukaku is up there with the strongest players in the world – he’s perhaps even the strongest footballer out there.
It’s just a shame that things didn’t work out for him at the highest level here in England – not just at Manchester United but also at Chelsea.
