Scott McTominay scored Scotland’s second goal of the game to seal the win against Belarus in a World Cup qualifier.

Che Adams scored the first of the game after just 14 minutes, with the former Southampton star striking just inside the box with his left foot to put the Scots a goal to the good.

It was then a nervy affair throughout, with Steve Clarke’s side needing a result as they fight with Denmark for automatic World Cup 2026 qualification.

It was the former Manchester United man who answered the call, as usual, with the now Napoli star scoring in the 84th minute with a left-footed finish after some neat work from Andy Robertson of Liverpool.

The Belarusians made the last few minutes a very nervy affair, with Gleb Kochuk scoring in the 96th minute after a neat touch past the Scottish defence.

Other notable Premier League and former stars featured such as Billy Gilmour, John McGinn, Ben Doak, and Angus Gunn.

Scott McTominay the hero for Scotland

As usual, it was a McTominay goal that made the difference. The main man for Napoli is also the main man for his country, and he once again proved that on Sunday evening.

Scotland earn three points and currently top the table, three points ahead of Denmark, with three wins and one draw on 10 points.

They next face Greece on 15 November, where they’ll be looking to further cement their chances of a place on the plane to America next year.
