Arsenal did more than enough to see off Manchester United today, as the Gunners ran out 3-1 winners against the Old Trafford outfit in a pulsating game at The Emirates.
Goals from Nuno Tavares, Bukayo Saka, and a stunner from Granit Xhaka ensured that Arsenal marched on towards securing a top four place. Their nearest rivals for that position, Tottenham, take on Brentford this evening.

However, while Arsenal were the ones to run out winners today, Manchester United midfielder, Scott McTominay, suggested in his post-match comments that it was his team who should have taken the spoils.
“There are a lot of things going on at the minute. But for us when you get home and take a look in the mirror. You can’t go back to your house and be satisfied conceding three at Arsenal when we deserved to win the game. For us, self-belief, lack of confidence, you can see it all,” McTominay said after the game. (BBC, via BT Sport)
“We have a half decent game today but the belief – so big in football – it’s just not there at the minute.”
McTominay has been one of United’s better players in fairness to him. In terms of effort, anyway.
TBR’s View: Big Moments Cost United But Arsenal Did Enough
That big spell in the second half which saw United have a goal disallowed and miss a penalty was the huge moments of this game. If that goes the other way, then McTominay and his team might get the win.
However, Arsenal were also good enough value for the win. They created decent chances themselves and came out of the blocks quickly as well.
The Gunners have had a remarkable week really. After looking shell-shocked in recent games, they’ve scored two huge wins on the spin against big clubs.
