Aston Villa could be about to welcome back Scott Hogan to the cause at Villa Park. The 26-year-old striker has missed the entire campaign so far with a groin strain and will now be hoping to make a big impact for the club.
It is fair to say that has not yet been the case. When Aston Villa paid £9 million to sign the Republic of Ireland international from Brentford he had been in excellent form. However, he has struggled to replicate anything like that in the Midlands.
In 54 games for the club, he has just 10 goals and Aston Villa fans are yet to see what exactly the club spent their money on.

Hogan was even linked with an exit this summer. In August, Sheffield United were ready to pay him £35,000-a-week in order to bring him to Bramall Lane, according to The Sun. That would have made him the Blades highest paid player by some distance.
However, no deal ever came about and Aston Villa are now hoping he can live up to such hyperbole.
Aston Villa need to find goals from somewhere as they struggle to find consistency in the Championship this campaign.
Hogan, according to the Express and Star, could feature against Bristol City this Friday night. Hopefully, he can be like a new signing at Villa Park, or else the club will need to consider offloading him in January.
