Aston Villa striker Scott Hogan has failed to impress fans since his January 2017 switch from Brentford.
In nearly two years with the West Midlands outfit, Hogan has managed just seven goals.
Remarkably, that tally is half of the 14 goals he racked up for Brentford between the start of the 2016/17 season and his move to Villa Park.
While at Brentford, Hogan scored 21 times in 36 games and was one of the hottest strikers outside of the Premier League.
But his time at Aston Villa has been hampered by a combination of injuries, poor form and being out of favour.
The 26-year-old was linked with a move away in the summer but that never materialised.
And his time at Aston Villa looked all but over when Steve Bruce froze him out earlier this season.
But Hogan may well have been handed a lifeline at Aston Villa. His former Brentford manager, Dean Smith, is now in charge of the Villans.
And he was brought on against Norwich City in midweek ahead of Jonathan Kodjia.
However, he struggled to get into the game and could not prevent a 2-1 loss at Carrow Road.
The twice-capped Republic of Ireland striker is severely out of form and his time at Aston Villa is running out.
He surely has to impress before January or risk being sold by Smith for the second time.
