Celtic captain Scott Brown has praised Ismaila Soro and Patryk Klimala after working with the Hoops duo during pre-season, in conversation with the official Celtic website.
Both Soro and Klimala joined the Parkhead side in January, the former arriving from Israeli side Bnei Yehuda and the latter switching from Polish outfit Jagiellonia Bialystok.
The 22-year-old Ivorian midfielder is yet to make his debut for Celtic, while Klimala made four competitive appearances for the Bhoys before the season was curtailed.
With preparations under way for a 2020-21 season which could see the Hoops make history with a tenth title in a row, Brown was left impressed with the relatively new duo.
“Patryk and Ismaila are two great guys, they’ve settled in really well,” the Celtic skipper told the official Celtic website.
“They got a little taste of it here last season to see what it was all about, see what the club is all about, to see what the expectation levels are as well.
“They both know we’ve got to turn up, and we’ve got to win every single game. They know that, they work hard in training and here’s hoping they keep pushing on because we’re going to need the squad this season, that’s for sure.”
As shown by Neil Lennon’s decision to drop Leigh Griffiths for the Loughborough and France trips in order to work on his fitness, Celtic are taking this pre-season more seriously than ever as they stand on the verge of glory.
Klimala, who impressed Celtic colleagues and fans alike with his bulked-up physique after the hiatus, has a huge opportunity to impress up front, while Soro will hope to stake his claim in a competitive midfield containing the likes of Brown, Callum McGregor and Olivier Ntcham.
