Scotland v Croatia: Celtic star lauded by Josh Windass on Twitter
Josh Windass has lauded one Celtic player on Twitter while watching Scotland v Croatia in their final group game at Euro 2020.
Steve Clarke’s side’s hopes of reaching the knockout stages were dashed as they were beaten at Hampden Park.
In truth, Croatia deserved their victory. Luka Modric rolled back the years with an incredible display.
But the Scots had their moments. And obviously, the highlight came when Callum McGregor found the bottom corner with a superb finish from the edge of the box.
The goal cancelled Croatia’s opener. And it gave Scotland some real hope heading into the second-half.
It also prompted Windass to take to social media to heap praise on the Hoops midfielder.
Of course, the pair have clashed on many occasions in the last few years.
McGregor has been a Celtic stalwart for more than six seasons. Windass meanwhile, spent two years with their main rivals.
He did hint that it was not easy to laud the Hoops star, but insisted that he cannot help but be impressed by the 28-year-old…
McGregor is a top player man . Wrong club but top player . What a finish

McGregor now faces massive season at Celtic with Euro 2020 campaign over after Scotland v Croatia
McGregor’s focus will now be switching to what is going on at Parkhead. For many, he is likely to be the man who succeeds Scott Brown as Celtic captain.
Obviously, much may depend on Ange Postecoglou and what direction he hopes to take the Hoops in.
But McGregor looks to be a safe bet for that role. And he will be tasked with leading Celtic away from one of their most disappointing campaigns in recent memory.
A lot is likely to change over the coming weeks at Celtic Park. But Postecoglou will surely be relying on figures such as McGregor and David Turnbull.
