Scotland fans react to Stuart Armstrong’s goalscoring display in San Marino thrashing
Armstrong rattled home a late free kick as the Scots won 6-0.
Scotland got a simple 6-0 victory under their belts against San Marino yesterday, with Southampton midfielder Stuart Armstrong putting the gloss on the victory late on.
He netted a belting free kick that even a goalkeeper of higher repute would have struggled to stop and perhaps warranted more celebration than it got in the circumstances.
It prompted both Scotland and Saints fans to have their say on the £50,000-a-week (Spotrac) midfielder and whether he deserves more gametime at club and international level.
Armstrong couldn’t have done much more to catch the eye on international duty, even if the calibre of yesterday’s opposition was such that any Premier League player might have fancied their chances of scoring.

As per Transfermarkt, Armstrong has just 65 minutes of Premier League action to his name so far this season, despite Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side sometimes struggling for invention or alternative sources of goals.
Some supporters certainly feel he needs more in the way of gametime at St Mary’s as he provided a timely reminder of what he can do at Hampden Park yesterday.

Now start him ahead of Fraud-Prowse.

Stuart Armstrong is clearly not enjoying his time at Southampton- we looked scunnered even when he buried the free kick – the laddie can play and needs to be part of or midfield – but he needs playing time
