Scotland thrashed the Faroe Islands 4-0 at Hampden Park last night to secure a big three points in Group F of World Cup Qualification.

After the game, Liverpool defender Andy Robertson earned rave reviews for his performance from Twitter.

The left-back plays a more advanced wing-back role for his country and he registered an assist during last night’s game.

Scotland secured the victory thanks to goals by Che Adams, Ryan Fraser and a brace from John McGinn.

Robertson has now collected 43 caps for his country and is currently Steve Clarke’s captain.

Kieran Tierney took the majority of praise for his performance last night but some fans did also praise Robertson.

The 27-year-old hasn’t enjoyed the best of campaigns at Liverpool and he will hope to use this Scotland outing as the catalyst for a good end to the season.

Liverpool are way off the pace in the title race and face a real battle to ensure Champions League football is on the cards next season.

A return to form for Robertson would be ideal for Jurgen Klopp and last night’s performance will have delighted his club boss.

Here is what Scotland fans were saying about Robertson after last night’s game.
