Scotland fans react to performance of Arsenal star Kieran Tierney
Scotland finished their Euro 2020 preparations with a slender 1-0 win over Luxembourg – and afterwards, fans raved about Arsenal star Kieran Tierney.
Che Adams scored the only goal of the game, despite the Tartan Army playing the entire second half against 10-men.
Tierney was impressive once again. He lined-up as the left-sided central defender in Steve Clarke’s favoured back three.
It’s a role he has performed with Arsenal before and he is striking up a brilliant partnership with Andy Robertson on the left.
Scotland will face a tough test at Euro 2020. They are in a group alongside England, Croatia and the Czech Republic.
As a result, they’ll need Tierney to be at his best and his form looks integral to the team’s chances.
The 24-year-old was an integral part of Arsenal’s team during 2020/21. He scored twice and claimed five assists, playing 38 matches in total.
Tierney is typically a left-back for his club, although eight appearances did come at centre-back.
Prior to his Arsenal switch, he made 170 appearances for Celtic and has also collected 21 Scotland caps.
Last night wasn’t an emphatic win for Clarke’s men by any means; although it was a win nonetheless.
Supporters rave about Arsenal star Tierney
Following last night’s game Scotland supporters were quick to laud the heroics of Tierney.
He was impressive throughout the game and his energy could be a big asset during Euro 2020.
Scotland might not have the most quality at the tournament and they’ll need to compensate for that somewhere.
What they might show is a lot of heart and Tierney epitomises such a degree of courage and commitment.
It’s been a regular occurrence to see Arsenal fans rave about Tierney on Twitter this season.
Last night though it was the turn of Scotland fans to laud the £80,000-a-week star and here is what they had to say about the versatile Gunners defender.
