Scotland fans react to Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney's display
A number of supporters have taken to Twitter to laud Kieran Tierney’s display as the Arsenal youngster starred in Scotland’s defeat to Slovakia on Sunday.
Scotland fans would have been forgiven for expecting Steve Clarke’s men to struggle following their incredible result on Thursday. Unsurprisingly, Clarke made a number of changes.

Tierney was one of a handful of players to keep his place. And in Andrew Robertson’s absence, the 23-year-old was moved to left wing-back for the Nations League game.
STEVEN GERRARD TO ASTON VILLA IS WRONG.
It is not a role that the former Celtic man has played in too often for Mikel Arteta’s side this season. However, he has perhaps left Arteta with food for thought with his display.

Tierney was excellent in the 1-0 loss. He produced some outstanding runs down the line. And some of his crosses into the box were simply delicious.
As shown by Whoscored.com, no player on the pitch matched Tierney’s tally of four key passes. Liam Cooper was the only player to have more touches of the ball than his teammate.
His display prompted many to single Tierney out as Scotland’s best player. The team’s performance was better than the scoreline perhaps suggests. And Tierney was one of those who really stood out.
Given that his performance came just a few days after he played 120 minutes in Serbia, he certainly deserves the enormous credit coming his way.
Here is how some of the fans reacted to Tierney’s performance…
Always frustrating to lose a game you dominate but have to be happy with the performance. Tierney outstanding. Armstrong and Christie both very good. Still fancy us to win this group.

Thought Tierney also looked really good at LWB
Such a talented player and shows his versatility being able to slot in to wherever he’s needed for Scotland 👏

Think if Jack and/or McGregor where in that team we don’t lose that goal 😊 Tierney was unreal and looks so much more comfortable and better as a Wing Back than Robertson does 😊🏴⚽️💙

Tierney was Scotland best player on the pitch, that was too be expected after Thursdays heroics. Tbh thought Scotland played pretty well. Lacked the final product at the end #SVKSCO

The energy showed by Christie and Tierney was unreal!! Bossed another team away from home, unlucky not to score today! On to the next one 🏴 #NoScotlandNoParty

With lots of changes, I thought we done ok. Decent in spells & any other striker in the squad with the chances we had, we win the game. Tierney & Christie were both stand out players. Small margins & lost to a deflected shot 🏴

Kieran Tierney absolutely brilliant. I have said often he is Scotland’s best left back and there’s nothing to make me change my mind. Him lcb behind Robertson in a 352 is the best looking team though

One team on the park, deserved to win that. Thought Tierney was outstanding and McBurnie decent too.
