Scotland fans destroy West Ham winger Robert Snodgrass for performance

West Ham’s Robert Snodgrass had a horrid night for his country Scotland on Thursday – and some international fans on Twitter ripped into him for his individual performance.

Scotland were thrashed 4-0 away to Russia in a European Championship qualifier, as they were ripped apart in the second-half.

Steve Clarke’s team were carved open defensively in the end by Russia after resisting their attack in the first period, with Artem Dzyuba (two), Magomed Ozdoev and Aleksandr Golovin scoring.

They host San Marino on Sunday evening and that should at least give them a chance to restore some kind of confidence.

Snodgrass played the full 90 minutes in the Russia defeat and had to spend a lot of time defending with his back to goal.

The 32-year-old was unable to provide a creative spark out wide when in possession and came in for major criticism on social media.

He’s only started one Premier League game for West Ham this season and appears to be a player on the decline at the London Stadium, but he has played in back-to-back 4-0 defeats for the national side during qualifiers.

It looks like Scotland could do with a reshuffle in the squad by injecting some young talent and in the process should offload some of the old guard like West Ham’s senior ace.
