Supposed Liverpool transfer target Amine Harit has signed a new contract with Bundesliga outfit Schalke until 2024.
The attacking midfield has dazzled this term having scored six goals and made five assists in 16 appearances, and has been rewarded by club officials for his contributions.

He told the club’s official website: “I’m very grateful to the club and the management team for sticking by me in difficult times and for always believing in me.
“I’d like to continue repaying their faith in me. I can still develop and want to play in Europe again with Schalke in the coming years. We can only do that as a team.”
Harit, who has 10 caps for Morocco, has come of age this term after previously showing mere glimpses of his ability following a €10 million/£8 million transfer from Nantes in 2017 (Kicker).
TBR’s view – Liverpool miss the boat?
It would appear Liverpool have now missed the boat over Harit, following their link earlier last month (Corriere dello Sport).
The new contract ensures Schalke’s asset is now protected and only silly money, realistically, will prise him away from the Veltins Arena.
It is unknown just how keen Liverpool were over Harit, but arguably Jurgen Klopp may not have to worry too much with attacking midfielders Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain looking good in recent weeks.
