Some Arsenal fans worried as Kolasinac fails in Schalke transfer
Arsenal fans have been feeling worried after Sead Kolasinac failed to secure a transfer to Schalke.
The Bundesliga 2 outfit released a statement claiming their current financial situation meant they can’t afford to keep the Bosnian.
He was released back to the Gunners alongside, Jan-Klaas Huntelaar, who is now a free agent.
Kolasinac has fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium. He was loaned out to Schalke as a result, earning relegation from the Bundesliga.
TBR View: Kolasinac potential transfer part of a mass overhaul for Arsenal
Arsenal made quite the statement in the January window by letting Kolasinac leave.
His departure meant the club were without an out-and-out left-back for the second half of the season. Following Kieran Tierney’s injury in the loss to Liverpool, Granit Xhaka was asked to fill in for the Scotsman.
It spoke volumes about Mikel Arteta’s lack of trust in the Bosnian and he should be the first to depart in the upcoming overhaul.
