'Scenes when we sign Morata': Some Man City fans fume as club are dealt blow in hunt for striker
Manchester City’s chances of signing Harry Kane have dropped dramatically following new transfer reports this weekend.
According to the Telegraph, Daniel Levy will not allow the England captain to leave this summer. Furthermore, City are reluctant to enter a lengthy negotiation process with the north London side.
The Premier League champions are seeking for a replacement for Sergio Aguero, who left the club this month for FC Barcelona. Kane is just one of many attackers City are reportedly keen on this summer.
Kane won’t be allowed a transfer this summer
Sky Sports News reported that Kane is eager to leave Tottenham after another trophyless season with the north London side. However, it now looks like Levy will ensure the England captain remains with the Premier League club for next season.
Kane was one of the Premier League’s best performing players last season. The striker won both the Golden Boot and Playmaker award as the England international hit 33 goals and assisted 17 in all competitions. Spurs, however, lost the League Cup final and crashed out of the UEFA Europa League Round of 16 in an embarrassing fashion to Dinamo Zagreb.
And some City fans were not happy with this latest update. A few supporters believe this deal could lead to the club signing an unfancied striker later on in the window.
Here’s what some fans had to say about this latest Kane update on Twitter, with a few supporters unhappy that the club could miss out on the England star…

If we try get Kane for the whole summer and end up not getting him and panic buying a striker at the end of the window then imma be mad :)— Cyrus 🙇🏻♂️ (@SilkyCyrus_74) June 19, 2021
Dude look somewhere else honestly tired of this Harry Kane to man city saga— Luis Ortiz (@BasedBoy_91) June 19, 2021
This is ridiculous. The player wants to go. It’ll be interesting to see City’s next move— Mike (@ThoughtsByMike) June 19, 2021
Spurs just hold Kane as a hostage like Barca hold Messi.— Kai (@JeanCartier2001) June 19, 2021

As well as Kane, the likes of Erling Haaland, Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez have been linked with City this summer. Pep Guardiola’s side currently only have just Gabriel Jesus as the club’s sole natural striker.
