‘Scary’: Gabriel Agbonlahor now predicts the result of Brighton vs Aston Villa clash today

Gabriel Agbonlahor has given TalkSPORT his prediction for the result of the clash between Brighton and Aston Villa today.

Villa have put in two promising displays since Unai Emery took over at the beginning of the month.

The new boss led his side to an impressive 3-1 win over Manchester United last weekend before losing against the Red Devils in the Carabao Cup on Thursday.

The Villains travel to the south coast today and face what will be a stern test in Brighton.

The Seagulls have won their last two in the league, having thrashed Chelsea 4-1 at home before beating Wolves at Molineux.

Roberto De Zerbi’s men also knocked Arsenal out of the EFL Cup on Wednesday night after an impressive 3-1 win at the Emirates.

Now ahead of today’s clash, Agbonlahor has predicted that his former side will fall to a 2-1 defeat at the Amex Stadium.

Agbonlahor predicts Brighton vs Villa result

“If you offered me a draw now, I’d bite your hands off because Brighton are a scary team to play,” Agbonlahor told TalkSPORT

“They’re the same team they were under Graham Potter, organised, scoring more goals now. They know what positions to play in.

“Very organised team. They can play against anyone and keep the ball as well.

“This is a tough game and a real test for these Aston Villa players. I feel if they can get a 1-1 draw, I’ll be happy. But I’m going to go 2-1 to Brighton.”

TBR’s prediction: Villa to earn a surprise point

Villa have improved massively since Steven Gerrard was sacked last month, despite the heavy 4-0 defeat at Newcastle.

Emery has made an instant impact with the Villa side and their performance against Erik Ten Hag’s men last weekend was impressive.

Brighton are on a brilliant run of form and have got off to an excellent start to the season as they sit seventh.

But with Villa seemingly on the up, we’re backing them to earn a surprise point on the south coast today with a 1-1 draw.
