Leeds United have recently been linked with a move for Austrian talent Sasa Kalajdzic. The Daily Mail reported in April that the talented attacker was on Leeds’ radar ahead of the summer transfer window.
It came after an incredible season in the Austrian league with his club Admira Wacker. Kalajdzic played 15 games after recovering from a broken foot, scoring eight and assisting five goals.
The news on Kaladjzic has been minimal since. Perhaps Leeds United will watch him in action during this summer’s European Under-21 Championships of which Austria are taking part.
But it seems the transfer talk has not gone unnoticed by the 21-year-old.
Kalajdzic has been speaking to Wiener Zeitung this week about his excellent form this season. He was asked about apparent interest from Leeds, as well as German sides FC Koln, Union Berlin and Stuttgart.
“To be honest, I find it somewhat amusing when you read such a thing in the media everywhere, it’s just a bit uncomfortable when all the people ask you about it.
“Since I’ve learned a lot to deal with such things in my head, I’ve read five articles about myself every day for a week, that’s been a lot.
“According to the media, it can be expected that I will go abroad.”
Kalajdzic seemed to find the amusing side around the transfer gossip.
Leeds United’s apparent interest in the player has, on the face of it, not progressed far this summer.
But at least it doesn’t seem to be impacting the player, as he looks to help Austria cause a shock this summer.
