Sancho and Nelson form could encourage Lookman to rejoin RB Leipzig

Everton winger Ademola Lookman is supposedly being re-targeted by RB Leipzig, as the January transfer window draws nearer.

The German club’s director of football Paul Mitchell has confirmed his team could be in the mix if the Toffees were prepared to do business, as reported by The Sun.

Lookman spent the second half of last season on loan at the Red Bull Arena, and scored five times in 11 Bundesliga appearances.

He impressed for his adoptive club, and clearly he left a lasting impression.

Mitchell said: “It’s clear how much affection we have for Ademola and I think from the way he performed here, the environment we created for him and the platform we gave him, he also enjoyed his time here.

“And with a situation like that, we would always be open to revisiting, but you never know.”

Lookman to follow Sancho and Nelson?

His situation could force him to think twice about staying at Goodison Park for the rest of the season.

There’s also the fact that Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson are both flourishing in the Bundesliga.

Sancho joined Borussia Dortmund at the start of the season from Manchester City for £8 million (The Telegraph) and has scored five goals and made seven assists for the league leaders.

Nelson is on a season-long loan at Hoffenheim from Arsenal, and has scored for goals.

Both youngsters are faring fantastically and could act as inspiration for Lookman, who got a taster of the same thing last term.

Seeing his compatriots flourish could be the push he needs to leave Everton, where at the moment he is not guaranteed to play.
