Liverpool suffered a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea at Anfield as Thomas Tuchel kept his unbeaten start to life as Chelsea manager thank to Mason Mount’s first-half strike – and Sami Hyypia has delivered his reaction on Instagram.
Jurgen Klopp’s stuttering Liverpool side came into Thursday night’s encounter having lost five of their last six Premier League outings. Tuchel, meanwhile, had won seven of his 10 games – drawing the other three.
Tuchel made that eight from 11 as Mount scored the only goal of the game. The signs were there for Liverpool early on, as Timo Werner took advantage of Liverpool’s high line to get in behind and score – only to be offside.

Sadio Mane had an excellent chance but fluffed his lines and moments later, Mount cut insider brilliantly before curling an effort past Alisson into the bottom corner. Werner’s pace caused a problem throughout.
The loss for Liverpool sees them slip into seventh place in the Premier League table – sitting four points off fourth-placed Chelsea and having played more games than West Ham, Everton and Spurs. The latter two won games.
Hyypia responded on his Instagram story, delivering a five-word verdict following the defeat – but remaining defiant as Liverpool have 11 games left to rectify their dour position, which sees European football even in doubt.
