Sami Hyypia and Dejan Lovren take to social media to praise one Liverpool star, after win over Everton

Liverpool cruised past Everton in the latest Merseyside derby at Goodison Park – and Mo Salah has earned praise from Dejan Lovren and Sami Hyypia.

The Reds came into the match facing an Everton side under Rafa Benitez in dismal form. They had failed to win in seven, losing five of those matches,

Now, it is six from eight. Liverpool got off to the ideal start as Jordan Henderson swept a left-footed effort from the edge of the area into the net.

Henderson got the assist for Liverpool’s second, playing in Salah who finished with aplomb. At this point, Everton fans were already leaving.

Those who left missed Everton’s mini-renaissance before half-time, Richarlison finding Demarai Gray to score. But Liverpool were dominant.

Salah scored a gorgeous solo effort, before Diogo Jota made it four – beating Jordan Pickford at the near post. Hyypia had his say on Instagram.

Yes, Liverpool have not won anything over the past 12 months. Yes, Salah’s goals failed to produce a trophy – but his form this season is breathtaking.

The 29-year-old now has a whopping 19 goals in 19 games for Liverpool. Not only that, but the Egyptian has laid on seven assists for the Reds.

To finish seventh in France Football’s Ballon d’Or list, is ridiculous. If Robert Lewandowski and Lionel Messi are the top two, Salah is an easy third.
