Sam Greenwood is the latest Thorp Arch product for Leeds fans to laud
Leeds fans are desperate to see Greenwood get some minutes.
The young striker is just the latest young start set to make his breakthrough at Leeds United.
Thorp Arch is a developing a reputation for being one of the better academies in the Premier League.
The likes of Jamie Shackleton and Kalvin Phillips are proof of just that.
One of the latest players to come through, Greenwood, is another one.
At just 18-years-old, the forward is already on England’s radar.
He’s already picked up three caps for the England U20 squad and started against Italy in a 1-1 draw in the recent international break.
Leeds fans are desperate to see Greenwood get some minutes
He failed to score during the break but picked up two more caps as he continues to develop.
Now, though, as he returns to Elland Road for the resumption of the club season, the fans want to see more of him.
So far, Greenwood has exclusively played for the Whites’ youth sides.
The teenager has three goals and two assists in six Premier League 2 games so far this season.
He’s also found himself on the bench in four of Leeds seven Premier League matches, although Marcelo Bielsa is yet to use him.
Greenwood is certainly a player who the fans rate highly.
With Patrick Bamford currently out injured, Greenwood is one step closer to getting a senior outing.
He’s obviously still very raw and a player who will need to develop before he’s a regular in the first team.
However, the fans have high hopes for him and will be desperate for him to get some senior minutes at some point this season.
