Liverpool face Manchester City on Sunday, and, as always, there’s plenty of debate being had around this game.
These two are the two best sides in the country at the moment, and, as you can imagine, there are plenty of comparisons to be made.
Speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast, Sam Allardyce and Billy Sharp have been devising their combined XI between the two sides, and there were a few interesting decisions to make.
Both men agreed that City would have more players in this combined team, but Allardyce reckoned that there were three Liverpool players who would get into this City side.
Indeed, the former Leeds manager says that Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah would get into the side, while he also stated that Andy Robertson would also get into this City team at left-back.

Robertson gets into the City team
Allardyce shared his verdict on Van Dijk, Salah and the £8m man.
“I think it’s more City than Liverpool, I think it’s three Liverpool and the rest Man City,” Sharp said.
“I’ve got Robertson in at left-back. Salah and Van Dijk,” Allardyce said.
Tight
Allardyce says that only three Liverpool players get into the City team at the moment, but we have to disagree.
Alisson Becker starts for Brazil for a reason. He’s arguably the best goalkeeper in the world and he’s right up there with Ederson.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is a different player to Kyle Walker, but he’s just as talented, while Luis Diaz is a world-class player who is much more proven at Premier League level than Jeremy Doku.
These two teams have shown over the past few years that they’re very well-matched, and while these combined XIs can be tough to configure, we’d argue that there should be a much more even split than Allardyce suggests.
