Sam Allardyce has explained that Everton are a side struggling to find their direction, but hopes that their manager Carlo Ancelotti is the senior man to help steer them to success.
The Toffees decided to get rid of Marco Silva in December and they managed to attract high-profile boss Ancelotti to Goodison Park.
The 60-year-old manager has been a serial winner in his career, including his previous spell in England when he won the Premier League and FA Cup with Chelsea.
He’s now taken on the task of improving a Merseyside outfit that have climbed up to ninth in the league table since his arrival, but they still have plenty of work to do.
Allardyce, who previously had a brief spell as Everton manager, has spoken highly of experienced tactician Ancelotti and admitted he’s a fan of is.
“They’re a massive club struggling to find the right direction. They’ve got a big manager now with a big reputation and he’s a great guy,” Allardyce told the Daily Mail.
“Hopefully that will be enough with the right recruitment ideas to get the club where it wants to go because Liverpool up the road are the world champions and it’s massively depressing for everybody who supports Everton.”

TBR’s View:
Ancelotti was an incredible coup for Everton when they appointed him and there is no doubt he will instantly have the respect of the dressing room for what he’s achieved as a manger.
He’s had four wins, two draws and two defeats in his eight games across all competitions since he took charge.
It looks like there is an improvement on the pitch since he took over and a number of individuals are flourishing under him.
There is a shot of a European finish if they can find some decent consistency in the rest of the season and that’s ultimately the ambition they need to reach of competing in Europe on a regular basis.
