West Ham United are ‘ready to step in’ to sign Salomon Rondon this summer.
According to a report from The Northern Echo, Manuel Pellegrini is prepared to lodge a bid for the Venezuela international if the Magpies do not secure him on a permanent deal.
Rondon has been in great form during his loan spell at St. James’ Park.

The West Bromwich Albion player has scored 10 goals for the club, and has impressed playing as the lone striker.
Should Newcastle stay up, then he will have been a big reason for that and fans will surely want to see him signed up ahead of next season.
Apparently they must pay £16.5 million though (The Daily Mail), which doesn’t seem like too much but of course there are no guarantees.
There may be added pressure now with West Ham reportedly circling.
TBR’s view
West Ham snapping up Rondon would be solid business by the Hammers.
The Irons would no doubt be able to afford to do the deal, and Rondon is now a proven Premier League striker.

He is by no means prolific, but brings other qualities to the table such as an aerial threat and the ability to hold the ball up.
West Ham could lose any one of Marko Arnautovic, Javier Hernandez, Lucas Perez and/or Andy Carroll this summer, and Rondon would not be a bad place to start a potential rebuild.
