Salomon Rondon has sent an Instagram message to Newcastle United defender Federico Fernandez after the Argentine impressed once again during the 2-1 win over AFC Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.
What appeared to be a poor start from Newcastle, Steve Bruce has eased the pressure on his shoulders with two excellent victories away at West Ham and now over Eddie Howe’s impressive Bournemouth at St. James’ Park.
Liverpool loanee Harry Wilson opened the scoring following a well-worked set-piece, but Newcastle came roaring back to the delight of the home support – scoring goals through defenders DeAndre Yedlin and Ciaran Clark.
Argentina international Fernandez posted on Instagram after the match as Newcastle leapfrogged many to sit in a very comfortable 11th place – just two points behind newly-promoted Sheffield United who sit in a lofty fifth place.
Since joining Newcastle for £6million (Goal) in the summer of 2018 from Swansea City, Fernandez has fed off scraps under Rafa Benitez and then to begin with under Steve Bruce. But he has now started and finished the last three league games.
Rondon made himself a fan favourite last season as he netted 13 goals while on loan from West Brom, before joining Rafa Benitez in China at Dalian Yifang instead of signing a permanent deal. He sent a message to Fernandez, on the latter’s post.
His comment is translated as: “Good game, nose.”
