Newcastle United are reportedly close to signing defender Jordan Lukaku from Italian club Lazio.
According to Sky Sports, the Magpies have agreed a deal with Lazio which will see the 24-year-old move to St James’ Park on loan for the rest of the season.
The report details that the left-back will be the club’s first signing of the January window and that they have been keen on him all month.
Lukaku, who is the younger brother of Manchester United’s Romelu, is set for his first taste of the Premier League.
Newcastle desperately need competition for Paul Dummett at left-back in their senior squad and appear to have got their man.

Lukaku will now provide an extra option for manager Rafael Benitez at full-back, but his strikers may be most excited for him to come into the team.
The Belgium international is a speed machine that loves to get forward and he’s an excellent crosser of the ball.
Newcastle centre-forward Salomon Rondon should be rubbing his hands together at the though of getting on the end of some of Lukaku’s crosses.
Rondon is a monster in aerial battles and the biggest goal threat for the North East club.
Newcastle fans could have an exciting combination in store through a Lukaku-Rondon partnership and it’s a strength that should be tapped into if he joins on loan from Lazio.
