Salim Lamrani has shared on Twitter that Marcelo Bielsa was impressed the first time he saw Jamie Shackleton train, while Liam Cooper asked for the Leeds United youngster to be promoted to the first-team dressing room.

Shackleton has been one of the young players who has really kicked on since Bielsa arrived at Elland Road. The 19-year-old had not made his first-team debut before Bielsa was appointed, but it did not take long for that chance to come his way.
The teenager made 19 Championship appearances last season, and has already played seven times in all competitions this term.

What has been so impressive about Shackleton’s emergence is that he has already featured in a number of roles for Leeds.
He came through the ranks as a central midfielder, while he has looked a natural at right-back, and some fans believe that he has the potential to play in a more attacking role.
And Lamrani has paid tribute to Shackleton in his latest ‘Memories from Leeds United’ tweet. Bielsa’s former translator shared how the youngster caught the Leeds boss’ eye during the first training session he took.
He also shed light on how respected he is by his Whites teammates as he explained how Cooper had quickly asked for the academy graduate to be integrated into the first-team.
Here is what Lamrani posted about Shackleton…
