Manchester City have ‘set their sights’ on a transfer for Almeria centre-forward Umar Sadiq, according to AS.
The publication is claiming that the striker is attracting several clubs after his performances last season. It is thought the likes of Spartak Moscow, Eintracht Frankfurt, Sevilla and Villareal are interested in the ace.
City plan on buying the 24-year-old and then loaning him out to their sister club in France, Troyes. He will then return to the Premier League squad for the 2022/2023 campaign
Almeria are said to be demanding €30m (£25.7m) for the ace, who has a contract until 2025 and a €60m (£51.4m) release clause.
Sadiq scored 28 goals and registered nine assists in 56 games across all competitions.

TBR View: Manchester City investing in yet another pointless transfer amid Sadiq links
Afer three league titles over the last four seasons, it’s fair to say City have been successful.
But, there is a side to the club which may have fans pulling their hair out, their transfer business.
Amid links with Sadiq, Manchester City are preparing to invest in yet another pointless transfer.
It’s always good to have strong squad depth, but, you feel as though Pep Guardiola takes it to extremes.
Last summer, the club invested in Nathan Ake from AFC Bournemouth for a staggering £40m. Only to then spend a further £65m on Ruben Dias.
It’s important to possess four main central defensive options given how deep the Citizens go in each competition. The Dutchman went on to make just 13 appearances across all competitions, pointless.
But, was £40m necessary on a fourth-choice centre-half? What was stopping Guardiola from promoting one of the youth products?
And it seems the club could be about to make the same mistake with Sadiq.
The side is on a journey to sign a world-class replacement for the departed Sergio Aguero – as per Khaldoon Al Mubarak.
The Nigeria international is likely to get little to no game time.
So, why are City interested in signing the player?
Amid all their success, the outfit’s transfer business really does leave people scratching their heads.
