Sadio Mane could leave Liverpool in ‘one or two years’ according to Keita Balde

Keita Balde, who plays for Senegal with Sadio Mane, has hinted that the Liverpool star could well be tempted by a move away from the club in the future.

The Monaco midfielder is big friends with the Liverpool talisman. Having played together at an international level, Balde and Mane have become close friends within football.

And speaking to AS about Mane, the 25-year-old believes that, although Mane is happy at Liverpool, he won’t stay on Merseyside forever.

“I don’t think he wants to be there forever. He is a smart boy and he knows what is good for him and what he has to do,” Balde said.

“It depends on many things. I don’t know what his decision is. In a year or two, he may want to change.”

Mane has been in sensational form for Liverpool over the last two season especially. He won the Golden Boot alongside Mo Salah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang last season.

This season, he has continued that fine form to smash in 18 goals prior to the season being halted.

However, that form has alerted Real Madrid, although a report from the Mirror claims Liverpool have firmly rebuffed any notion Mane will leave.

The Senegal star is happy at Anfield. Indeed, this was something Balde was keen to reinforce in his own comments.

“Something very attractive has to come for him to leave Liverpool. A big team would have to come and promise him many things to think about it. There are few teams like Liverpool,” he added.

While a move to Real Madrid is something that nobody should be denied, there is a sense that Mane hasn’t quite achieved all he can with Liverpool.

Yes, he’s won the Champions League and is on course to land the Premier League, but he can do so much more and ensure the Reds dominate for years.

Of course, he might feel differently. However, Mane can truly cement his legacy with another couple of years with the club.

As Balde says, Mane might well see that as the right time to go. Until then, though, the winger needs to stay put and ensure Liverpool dominate.
