Sadio Mane claims Thiago Alcantara can take Liverpool to another level

Liverpool star Sadio Mane has claimed that new signing Thiago Alcantara can help the team progress to “another level”.

Despite a quiet start to the transfer window, Jurgen Klopp’s side kicked into gear recently by signing top-class central midfielder Thiago from Champions League holders Bayern Munich, as well as Diogo Jota from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Thiago is a high-profile player that has impressed at Bayern and Barcelona in the past, but has decided to try tackle English football for the first time in his career.

The 29-year-old made his debut in the recent Premier League win over Chelsea, as he slotted effortlessly into the centre of the park for the second-half.

Mane has stated that the Spanish playmaker is looking the part in training and feels he can help the team to improve.

“I think not only the fans are excited to see Thiago. For sure, especially me and my teammates were really happy to have this kind of quality in our squad. It only makes us better,” Mane said, as quoted by the club’s official website.

“I can see from day one in training and the game against Chelsea what he is doing. And I’m sure he will take us to another level, for sure.”

TBR’s View:

Liverpool are a team stacked with superstars due to their rise in the last couple of years, but it sounds like Thiago is already making a big impression in their squad and that indicates the type of quality he has.

It’s a frightening prospect the Merseyside giants improving their standards, as they were miles ahead of any side in the Premier League last season and cruised to the title.

But Klopp will know that Manchester City are going to bite back this season, plus if they want to win the European crown they know it’s likely they will have to beat a Bayern Munich outfit at some point that look unstoppable right now.
