Tottenham Hotspur have posted a reminder on their Twitter feed reminding fans to wash their hands for 20 seconds, also getting a dig in at rivals Arsenal in the process.
With the world in the midst of a huge public health crisis, English football – along with many other entertainment events – has come to a standstill in a bid to stop the spread of the disease.
That’s not to say clubs aren’t still hoping to one over on rivals, with Twitter admins taking over from players in doing the deed.
On Thursday, Spurs fired a shot towards the Gunners with a 20-second clip – the recommended time to wash your hands – of all of Harry Kane’s goals against the red side of North London.
Of course, Arsenal fans weren’t just going to take it lying down, and plenty on social media fired shots right back:
Tottenham and Arsenal last faced off on 1 September 2019 at the Emirates Stadium, a game in which Spurs surged into a two-goal lead thanks to goals from Christian Eriksen and Kane before Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang helped the Gunners claim a point.
