‘Sad to see’: Arsenal fans react to statement from Mesut Ozil

Arsenal fans have been reacting in their droves this afternoon following an emotional statement from Mesut Ozil over his recent squad omission.

The German midfielder was officially confirmed as left out of the 25-man squad by Mikel Arteta. The announcement was a shock to a number of supporters, although some Gunners fans did see it coming.

Ozil has cut a lonely figure at The Emirates for some time now. But having been exiled from the squad by Arteta and now left out, the former Real Madrid ace has taken to Twitter to have his say with a lengthy statement today.

Obviously, the tweet has caused quite the response among the Gunners faithful, with thousands of fans taking time out to have their say and reply to the midfielder.

And while there’s plenty with no sympathy for Ozil, there are some Arsenal fans out there who have some sympathy for their man it seems.
