Tottenham completed a stunning double capture this weekend as they signed both Sergio Reguilon and Gareth Bale from Real Madrid.
Jose Mourinho got the full backing of Daniel Levy as the Spurs supremo has backed his manager to the hilt in the pursuit of Champions League football.

The signing of Bale is the marquee one, of course. However, the addition of Reguilon should also prove a shrewd move by the club, with the Spaniard being massively impressive for Sevilla during the course of last season.
But with both players being left-footed and both likely to go into the first XI immediately, surely it means Ryan Sessegnon needs to look at his short-term future and seek a loan move away?

The former Fulham man has struggled to hold down any sort of regular game-time since arriving in north London. However, Spurs are said to be keen on developing Sessegnon as a long-term option, with Football London claiming a loan move is highly probable now.
Sessegnon cannot stand still and waste another year
The problem that Sessegnon has here is that he risks missing out on a lot of football if he doens’t move on. The 20-year-old made only six Premier League appearances last season, meaning another 12 months out in the wilderness won’t be helpful.
A number of clubs are likely to be interested in Sessegnon. Former club Fulham could be an option, while the England under-21 star will surely look at young English players in Germany and consider that sort of move.

The main thing for Sessegnon is he gets his career going. We haven’t seen that player who helped Fulham to promotion a few seasons back and it would be a great shame to see him not fulfil his potential.
However, in Spurs signing Gareth Bale, Sessegnon has the ideal chance to learn. If ever there was an example of how to go from being a developing left-back into one of the best attacking wingers in the world, then Bale is that.
For now, though, Sessegnon needs games and this is the season for him to get his career going.
