Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli has taken to Instagram with an optimistic post-match message which has been met with praise by some of his peers.
The 24-year-old has endured a difficult season at Spurs, with just one Premier League start under his belt and 14 appearances all season.
Indeed, he was rumoured to be close to leaving Tottenham in the January transfer window, with a loan switch to PSG on the cards, but Daniel Levy reportedly blocked the move.
Since then, Alli has featured more often, playing against Everton in the FA Cup and Manchester City in the Premier League.
On Thursday, Jose Mourinho named the England international – as well as Gareth Bale – in the starting XI for the Europa League last-32 first-leg clash with Wolfsberger.
Both players gave really good accounts of themselves, with Alli a constant threat and Bale getting two goal contributions en route to a 4-1 win.
Alli looked like he was enjoying his football again, and he certainly seemed pleased after the game, as per his Instagram message:
Several fellow players, including Jeffrey Schlupp, James Maddison, Jordon Ibe, Ryan Sessegnon, Marvin Morgan and Jaydon Gibbs, plus rapper and Spurs fan AJ Tracey, responded:
Son Heung-min, Bale and Lucas Moura gave Spurs a commanding lead at half-time.
Wolfsberger pulled a goal back through captain Michael Liendl from the penalty spot, but substitute Carlos Vinicius made the game safe late on.
