Ryan Mason has told TalkSPORT that he still believes Tottenham Hotspur will remain in the top four of the Premier League, despite suffering another loss to Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.
The retired midfielder remains an icon at Tottenham after breaking through the academy, only to be forced to retire early due to a head injury. At 27, he is a coach in the Spurs academy.
Spurs have now picked up just a point from their last possible 15. They have suffered four defeats against Burnley, Southampton, Chelsea and Liverpool – drawing with Arsenal.
Despite Spurs’ dismal form, ex-midfielder Mason is confident that the north Londoners will finish in the top four of the Premier League – despite Manchester United sitting on level points, and fifth-placed Arsenal a point behind.

“For me, Spurs have got all their players back now,” Mason said. “I think they’re a top team. With this run in, they’ll pick up the results they need to finish in the top four.
“Sunday showed that when they have their best team available, they can compete with the best. Liverpool have been the best of the Premier League and Spurs competed – just unfortunate what happened at the end.”
TBR’s view
Spurs have a somewhat easier run in, with only Manchester City to play from the top six in their remaining seven league games. With points expected to follow, the pressure is on.
But as Mason says, Mauricio Pochettino’s side looked strong with all their players back fit. Relocating to the new stadium is only going to help, buoying fans and the playing squad.
Spurs will finish in the top four – whether that is in third or fourth remains to be seen.
