The Denmark international has become a key cog in the machine for Jose Mourinho, providing steel in front of the defence.

But Hojbjerg isn’t just impressing on the pitch.

The 25-year-old took time out to speak to the club’s U18s today, offering the youngsters some valuable tips on how they can better themselves, and his comments have left a big impression on Head of Player Development, and former Spurs star, Ryan Mason.

He said after the engaging session (via Spurs’ official website): “Today was excellent – we’re very grateful that Pierre took some time out of his busy schedule to speak to our boys.

“Obviously it’s important that we get our messages to the players reinforced and it’s so much more powerful when it comes not only from us as the coaching team, but from the current first team players.

“Pierre is a very, very intelligent man, he’s made a massive impression on me and I’m sure all the players as well, because the way he spoke, the passion and the obsession he has for football, it’s admirable, and we’re very lucky that he’s representing our football club.”

It is added by Spurs that Hojbjerg has left his door open should any of the youngsters want to pick his brains about anything.

It is rapidly becoming crystal clear why Mourinho wanted to sign him.

Not only is he a great player, but his professionalism, maturity and character are three things that are going to be invaluable in the dressing room going forwards.
