Rangers have confirmed they have completed the pre-contract signing of Scott Wright from Aberdeen in a move that will him join Steven Gerrard’s side in the summer for nothing – and Ryan Jack has welcomed the winger to Rangers on Instagram.
Wright, 23, has been strongly linked with a move to Rangers for much of the transfer window as he continues to enjoy an excellent season with the Dons – despite a hernia injury that kept him sidelined for eight games in all competitions.
He has since recovered from that, boasting stats of two goals and five assists in his 18 appearances this season. The Scotland Under-21 international will be hoping to add to those figures before swapping Pittodrie for Ibrox in the summer.
Indeed, Rangers confirmed the move on their website – with Gerrard pulling off a similar move to the one in which he signed Jordan Jones from Kilmarnock and Glen Kamara from Dundee, though Kamara was then signed immediately, days later.
Wright has now played 77 times for Aberdeen in all competitions – making his debut aged just 16 in 2015 during a Europa League qualifier. He played alongside Jack for a couple of seasons before Jack moved to Rangers in 2017.
Indeed, Jack reacted on Instagram to the signing of Wright – welcoming him to Ibrox with a post on his story.
